MP3 Player Wearable Bag
(Any type yarn. I used worsted weight Red Heart Super Saver in Turqua. This can be modified to fit phones,ipods etc. Any finished item from this pattern may be sold. I would appreciate design credit)
With a G/6 hook & yarn of your choice, Ch 10 (measure width of item to be covered, then go 2 extra stitches.) You may want to use a stitch marker to mark your rounds.
Round 1: SC in B.L. of 2nd ch from hook & in next 7 loops ,work 3 SC in end loop, (working around into loops unworked) 1 SC in next 7 un-worked loops, 2 SC in starting loop (where the 1st SC was worked.) Do NOT join in this OR the following rows, unless indicated. (20 SC)
Rnd 2 - 5 : SC in each SC around (20 SC) After last stitch in Rnd 5, join with a Slip Stitch to the 1st SC
(At this time, I flip my cozy inside-out & tuck my end piece.)
Rnd 6: CH 5 (counts as 1st dc & ch 2)Skip 1st stitch after ch 5, DC in next st. CH 2, skip st, DC in next stitch around, ending with a CH 2, & joining with a SL St in beg. CH 3 (You will have 10 CH 2 spaces & 10 DC ~remember the starting ch counts as DC)
Rnd 7: CH 4 (counts as 1st DC & Ch 1). Dc in CH 2 space of previous row. Ch 1 & repeat around ending with ch 1 then join with a slip stitch to starting ch 3. (11 CH 1 spaces & 11 DC.)
Rnd 8:CH 1 , *SC in CH 1 space of prev. row, sc in next dc* repeat once. ~Sc dec over nxt ch 1 & dc of prev row~ .. Rep frm * to* 5 times. then from ~ to ~ once more. Repeat * to * 2 more times. Ending with slp st in CH 1. (20 SC counting CH 1)
Rnd 9 - 11 : Repeat Rnds 6 - 8 once more.
Rnd 12: Repeat Rnd 6.
Rnd 13: CH 1 sc in each Ch 2 space & each DC around. Join with slip stitch.( 20 sc) Do NOT fasten off.
You should be in 1 of the 2 corner edges...if you are not, slip stitch your way to the closest. To make the strap (I am hanging mine around my neck) CH 80 then wthout twisting, slp stitch into 11 sc from the start of your strap. Still careful not to twist, CH 1 turn, slip stitch in each ch, joining with a slip stitch to beginning. Finish off. You are ready to use. Keep in mind, chain will shorten when slip stitching in it.
